Pérez Garrido is awarded again by the National Composition Competition from Toledo

Javier Pérez Garrido has just been awarded again. This time he won the First Honorical Mention by III National Concert Band Composition Competition Toledo, Spain. 

There were a hundred of works taking part during this national competition which is becoming one of the most important for Spanish composers. Jaime de León, Francisco Grau Vegara, Francisco Javier Gutierrez Juan y Juan Gonzalo Gómez Deval seleced the five finalist works and the Asociación Unión Musical de Benquerencia concert band conducted by Pablo A. García premiered them at the emblematic Teatro de Rojas, Toledo, Spain.

"Pater Dimitte Illis" was the awarded composition composed by Pérez Garrido who is the first composer that has been awarded two times since the creation of this contest (in 2012 he won the First Prize with his work "Rex Regum, Op.23")

As usual, Nuestras Bandas de Música has recorded a Cd with the awarded pieces that will be published in 2015.


Other easter events for 2014

Today, in Cartagena (Murcia), the composition "Virgen del Rosario, Op.48" will be played during the Viernes de Dolores procession.

Tomorrow, April 12th, "Santiago Apóstol, Op.4 nº2" will be presented during the "Traditional Easter Concert" in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia by Banda Municipal de Santiago and Juan Miguel Romero Llopis.

In the end, his composition "Soledad, Op.56" -awarded at IV National Concert Band Composition Competition San Pedro del Pinatar- will be played these days in Silleda, Pontevedra by Banda Municipal de Música de Silleda conducted by Rafael Agulló Albors.
