Javier Pérez Garrido received the Third Prize by the IV National Concert Band Composition Competition "San Pedro del Pinatar" last night. His award-winning work, "Soledad, Op.56" is a funeral march that reflects about the fragility of human beings and their solitude before death.
Composed in Cartagena last January and premiered yesterday by Unión Musical de San Pedro del Pinatar, this piece competed with other 50 marches and has been requiered for being performed in different Spanish locations.
