Javier Pérez Garrido has just finished a concert band conducting course. His teacher has been the conductor and composer Andrés Valero-Castells, one of the most important Spanish musicians. This event took place in Manzanares, Ciudad Real at the beginning of August.

Today, in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia -Spain- the new King and Queen of Spain, Felipe VI and Letizia, have presided the main event of the Santiago Apóstol festivity. During this event, the Banda Municipal from Santiago de Compostela have performed several times the band composition “Santiago Apóstol” composed by Javier Pérez Garrido. It’s the very first time that King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia enter to Santiago de Compostela’s Cathedral and they have done it walking with the rhythms of the composition “Santiago Apóstol” by Javier Pérez Garrido, a march for concert band based on the famous hymn by M. Soler.

An Irish dream will be played by Banda Sinfónica de la Societat Instructiva Unió Musical de Montserrat, Valencia and Manuel Godoy.
The concert is going to be at the worldwide known Palau de la Música in Valencia, Spain (July 27th, 11:30 a.m.).

Javier Pérez Garrido has just been awarded again. This time he won the First Honorical Mention by III National Concert Band Composition Competition Toledo, Spain.

The californian prizes Global Music Awards have given to Javier Pérez Garrido the Gold and Bronze Medals at the Music Composition category. The awarded pieces have been "Fantasía, Op.14" -Gold Medal- and "Fanfarria, Op.50" -Bronze Medal and also Nominee to the Hollywood Music in Media Awards-. Both of them are composed for concert band.

The Banda de Música da Força Aérea concert band (Portugal) conducted by maestro T. Col. Elio Murcho have just recorded in Lisbon the composition "European Overture, Op.42" by Javier Pérez Garrido. This Cd recording as well as the music scores will be published by Molenaar Editions all over the world.

The Banda Sinfónica Juvenil de la Red de Escuelas de Música de Medellín under the direction of Frank the Vuyst will perform the band composition "Fantasía, Op.14" by Javier Pérez Garrido at the Teatro de la Universidad de Medellín, Colombia.
