The emblematic "Banda de Música de Getafe" (BMG), directed by Jose Luis Bueno Cardeñosa, is preparing to commemorate four decades of music and passion with an extraordinary event. The concert will not only mark a milestone in the history of the BMG, but will also serve as the crowning touch to a series of planned activities commemorating this important anniversary. Among them stands out the First Congress of Bands of the Community of Madrid, which will bring together musicians and music lovers from across the country to celebrate and share experiences.

On Saturday, April 20th, at 7:00 p.m., at the Federico García Lorca Theater, the public will have the privilege of enjoying an unforgettable concert in honor of the 40th anniversary. One of the highlights of this celebration will be the first performance in Madrid of the "European Overture" by composer Javier Pérez Garrido. This piece, commissioned and premiered by Maestro Jan Cober and the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra in Luxembourg during the Central Europe tour in 2013, promises to be one of the special moments of the night.

A particularly touching detail is that this special concert will take place in the same venue where Pérez Garrido directed the premiere of his Spanish suite "A Trip to Spain" alongside the Didsbury High School Symphonic Winds band from Canada in 2015. Javier, excited about the selection of his work for this relevant event, expressed his gratitude and special bond with Madrid, recalling his birth in the capital and his childhood in Torrejón de Ardoz.

With the mix of emotions surrounding this event, the concert promises to be a unique and unforgettable experience for all attendees, marking another milestone in the rich musical history of the BMG and celebrating its continuous commitment to artistic excellence.
