The award-winning pianist Gabriel Escudero will perform two concerts in Finland including the composition for solo piano "Tres tristes tangos, Op.41" by Javier Pérez Garrido.
“Espanjalainen Nta” (Spanish night) will have other music compositions by composers Albéniz, Granados, Chopin, Falla and Lizt.
The places for these concerts will be the Sibelius Museum (Turku, April 2nd, 7:00 p.m.) as well as the Balder Hall (Helsinki, March 27th, 6:30 p.m.).
Dr. Escudero is considered by music critics as one of the best young Spanish pianists of his generation. He has been awarded many prizes from various competitions such as 1st prize in the Young Artist Competition in Murcia and the Best National Instrumentalist in Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo (1996), 2nd prize in “The Ruperto Chapi” Piano Competition, 1st prize in the “Ciutat de Manresa” piano competition, 1st prize at the “Infanta Cristina” Piano Competition, Special Steinway & Sons prize (1998) and 1st prize at the “Ciutat de Xativa” Piano Competition (2001). He has performed in many halls in Europe and the United States (Madrid, Murcia, Burgos, Albacete, Valencia, Catalonia, Oviedo, Hamburg, Helsinki, New York, Chicago etc.) and received excellent reviews in newspapers such as La Verdad, El País, ABC, Die Welt, etc.
