Program notes
Dawn of a New Horizon establishes a parallelism between the dawn of the day and the awakening of human consciousness. A more generous and less individualistic thought, a more committed, sustainable and supportive vision will be able to transform our society until the dawn of a new and more humane horizon.
The Covid-19 pandemic reminds us -once again- that we are all connected; taking care of others is also taking care of ourselves. Perhaps, we could use this opportunity to begin transforming our lives: let's seek that "awakening" until we reach that new society.
Musically, this thought begins with a calm sunrise; the idea of social transformation was born. Progressively, the instrumental ensemble becomes more present and brilliant, imitating the rising sun and showing the beauty of this change. Finally, the arrival of the new day is represented; our society has already been transformed and shares its happiness under the star of this new horizon of hope.
In the same way, the City of Music in Pamplona -house of the Superior Conservatory of Music in Navarra, Spain- begin a new cycle after its X Anniversary with optimism.
