• Hamada's prelude will be premiered at the Auditorio Manuel de Falla, Granada

    Granada is waiting for celebrating the MAHS 2016 festival -dedicated to the musician Rafael Puyana this year-. On it, the harpsichordist Darío Tamayo will have a concert where the composition Hamada's Prelude by Pérez Garridois going to be performed for the very first time. This piece, composed for Aya Hamada, has several influences from oriental and minimalist music. The event will be held at Manuel de Falla Auditorium, April 12th, 20.30 p.m.

     

  • Heroic Overture for celebrating Portuguese Navy Day

    As usual, Portugal is ready for commemorate the arrival of explorer Vasco da Gama to India next week. The "Portuguese Navy Day" will have many different activities, including a concert by Portuguese Navy Band conducted by maestro Délio Gonçalves where the composition Hero Overture, Op.26a by Pérez Garrido will be premiered. The event, scheduled inside Navy Museum, Lisbon (next May, 20th) will have the presence of the composer.

  • Javier Pérez Garrido Celebrates 20th Anniversary with the Tokyo Blas Orchester

    On February 16, 2025, the Tokyo Blas Orchester will host a spectacular concert at the Asakusa Public Hall to celebrate its 20th anniversary, with a program entitled “Past and Future”. Under the direction of the renowned conductor Masaki Watanabe, the orchestra will take the audience on a journey that bridges the past with a bold vision of the future. Among the highlights of the evening will be the Japanese premiere of A Trip to Spain, a symphonic suite for wind band composed by Javier Pérez Garrido. Additionally, the orchestra will perform Richard Strauss's monumental tone poem Ein Heldenleben, showcasing their ability to tackle challenging and grand-scale musical works.

  • Marcha del Dirirambo’s first performance in Portugal

    The concert bands Orquesta Juvenil de la Filarmónica Pampilhosense under the direction of Daniel Vieira and Sociedade Filarmónica Lobelhense conducted by Bruno Correia will perform for the first time in Portugal the composition Marcha del Dirirambo composed by Javier Pérez Garrido. The concerts will be held in Pampilhosa and Mangualde, December 20 & 21th.

  • Pérez Garrido composes a commissioned work for the WASBE Conference, 2019

    The symphonic band C.I.M. la Armónica de Buñol directed by Mr. José Tello Espert has recently commisioned a symphonic composition to Javier Pérez Garrido for being premiered at the WASBE Conference, 2019. The work, entitled "Last Day of the Dinosaurs" (Sinfonietta nº1, Op.63), will be worldwide premiered next July 12th at Auditorio de San Luis, Buñol, Valencia. This symphonic composition is divided into 9 different movements that speak about some iconic dinosaurs (triceratops, alamosaurus, pterosaurus, velociraptos, tiranossaurus rex, etc.) and their last day of life before their extinction (just where the impact of the asteroid hit the Earth -at about 66 million years ago-). 

    This concert will also have the world premieres of Gregory Fritze (Phoenix) and Santi Miguel (Symphony nº1). Click here for more info.

    Javier Pérez Garrido has just been awarded again. This time he won the First Honorical Mention by III National Concert Band Composition Competition Toledo, Spain. 

  • Pérez Garrido performs and premieres a composition at the WMC biennale

    The Biënnale 2014has already started last weekend in The Netherlands. This event, organized by Kerkrade’s World Music Championshipis having concerts by international music ensembles such as German Brass, Calefax or Eburon Quintet, among others. Furthermore, Javier Pérez Garrido has played some concerts and premiered a chamber music composition (Canadians in Valenciafrom A trip to Spain) with Tudor’s Quintet, a woodwind group formed by European Union Youth Wind Orchestra’s members and supervised by Jan Cober and Maartin Dekkers.

  • Pérez Garrido will conduct the Caudete's Sta. Cecilia concert band

    Javier Pérez Garrido is going to be guest conductor at the Unión Musical Santa Cecilia de Caudete concert band to premiere his last work, the band composition titled Santo Grial. Appart from the premiere of this work, based on the Holy Grail legend, he will also conduct his composition Asociación Musical El Castillo, Op.24, First Prize an Honorable Mention by XVI Nacional Concert Band Composition Competition Villa de Pozo Estrecho (Spain, 2008).

    Fifteen Minutes of Fame has selected the composition 0:51, Op.51 by Javier Pérez Garrido to be premiered in New York City. His piece is composed for solo clarinet and will be played by Dr. Bruce Curlette on September.

  • Pérez Garrido will participate in the opening speech by José Muelas for Holy Week in Cartagena

    Next Wednesday, March 19th, the "Tertulia La Vara" Procession Association is preparing to kick off its Holy Week events in Cartagena with an unforgettable occasion. Starting at 8:00 PM, the Casino on Calle Mayor will become the epicenter of tradition and culture, where emotion and spirituality will intertwine in a unique evening. The distinguished lawyer José Muelas will be in charge of delivering the opening speech for this event, which will also present the poster commissioned by this procession association to Mariang Maturana.

    The Centro Instructivo Musical "La Armónica" de Buñol (Valencia) has organized the National Composition Competition "Manuel Carrascosa" for celebrating their CXXV anniversary. During the closing ceremony Javier Pérez Garrido was awarded for his composition "Fantasía Andaluza, Op.47".

  • Pérez Garrido, on tour in the US with several premieres and participation at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago

    Javier will stay as a composer in residence at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where he also have two premieres with the Symphony Band under the direction of Dr. Kristin Tjornehoj. The concert, at William Abott Concert Hall (December, 9th) will have the first world performance of a new version of Concertino de los Filabres, for 2 solo trumpets and band, as well as the American premiere of his sinfonietta nº1, Op.63 Last Day of the Dinosaurs, a piece commissioned by Banda Sinfónica del C.I.M. "La Armónica de Buñol" for being premiered during the WASBE Conference, 2019.

  • Performing "pasodobles" in the United States and Spain

    Recently, two concerts have included "spanish pasodobles" for band composed by Javier Pérez Garrido. The first one, at William Abbott Concert Hall (University of Wisconsin-River Falls -Javier is the composer in residence at this University during this year-) scheduled the first American performance of Víctor Barrio, with the Symphony Band and director Dr. Kristin Tjornehoj.
