On October 5th, starting at 8:00 p.m., the majestic Roman Theatre of Mérida will host an unprecedented concert in celebration of the Guardia Civil's 2024 Patroness Day. The Guardia Civil's Music Unit, under the expert direction of Lieutenant Colonel Jaime Enguídanos Royo, will open this special event by performing Fanfarria, Op. 50 by composer Javier Pérez Garrido.
This concert will feature the collaboration of over one hundred musicians, including members of the Symphonic Band of the Republican National Guard of Portugal, the Esteban Sánchez Professional Music Conservatory of Mérida, and the Mérida Music Band, promising a night of exceptional musical quality.
The inclusion of Fanfarria, Op.50 as the opening piece adds a special touch to a night that promises to be epic. Regarding this performance, Javier Pérez Garrido expressed his gratitude to the Guardia Civil's Music Unit, and especially to Lieutenant Colonel Enguídanos, for their ongoing support of his music. Last year, Pérez Garrido conducted the same band in Pamplona, where his military march 1952 was met with great success from both critics and the public.
Admission to the concert is free until full capacity is reached, offering a unique opportunity for music and culture lovers to enjoy a magical evening in the incomparable setting of Mérida's Roman Theatre.
