• Song for Peace will be performed during the homage to the fallen of World War II

    Europeans shouldn't forget to thank the brave soldiers who fought for peace and freedom during the World War II. The Netherlands knows it very well and, since the end of this struggle, organizes several homages to their fallen every May, 4th. This year, the region of Limburg will have a memorial ceremony in Valkenburg -on top of the Cauberg- where the Harmonie Concordia Melick under the baton of prestigious Roger Niese will play the composition Song for Peace by Pérez Garrido (among others). The event is starting with two minutes of silence at 8.00 p.m.

  • Spain welcomes the Heroic Overture

    The military band "Unidad de Música del Tercio de Levante de Infanteria de Marina" from Cartagena, Spain, under the baton of Captain Jaime Ismael Enguídanos performed for the very first time in Spain the overture composed by Javier Pérez Garrido (Heroic Overture, Op.26a) during their anniversary concert (El Batel Auditorium, Cartagena). After this symphonic opening, the band continued playing other compositions that were dedicated and premiered by their former musicians such as "Suspiros de España", "La Gracia de Dios", "El Abanico", "Ganando Barlovento", etc. Pérez Garrido's work received a great ovation among the authorities, musicians and the audience.

  • The "American Fanfare" was premiered during the Independence Day

    The Sterling Municipal Concert Band under the baton of maestro Jon P. James premiered the American Fanfare, Op.61 during their Patriotic Concert at Grandon Civic Center, Illinois (US). The piece, composed by Javier Pérez Garrido, was well received by the audience. During 2018, Sterling is celebrating the 90th anniversary of their municipal band with many special concerts.

  • The "European Overture" will be performed during the 40th Anniversary of the Getafe Symphonic Band

    The emblematic "Banda de Música de Getafe" (BMG), directed by Jose Luis Bueno Cardeñosa, is preparing to commemorate four decades of music and passion with an extraordinary event. The concert will not only mark a milestone in the history of the BMG, but will also serve as the crowning touch to a series of planned activities commemorating this important anniversary. Among them stands out the First Congress of Bands of the Community of Madrid, which will bring together musicians and music lovers from across the country to celebrate and share experiences.

  • The "Heroic Overture" is used to honor the heroes of COVID-19

    There are many events that are emerging to honor the workers who fight risking their lives against the coronavirus pandemic. Among others, Pérez Garrido's symphonic work entitled Heroic Overture has been used during the "Homage to Heroes" by the Municipal Symphonic Band of Alicante and the Alicante City Council or the "Tribute to Musicians" (who performed online during the confinement) by Department of Culture of the Cartagena City Council and the "Entre Cuerdas y Metales" music contest. Thanks to everybody for fighting against the virus!

  • The "Primitiva de Llíria" will return to the music scene performing the Heroic Overture

    One of the best wind bands around the world, the Primitiva de Llíria from Valencia, Spain, will make it first concert after the pandemic with a special concert honoring the heroes who fight against the virus. During the event, that will be held at Teatro de la Primitiva in Valencia next May 15th, they will perform the Heroic Overture, Op.26a by Javier Pérez Garrido.

  • The "Romance, Op.64a" for oboe and strings will be premiered in Pamplona

    The chamber music students at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Navarra (Spain) are finishing their rehearsals before next week's concert. The event will host a wide range of works and genres, including the first performance of the romance for oboe and string quintet composed by Javier Pérez Garrido in 2019.

  • The Banda Sinfónica de la Federación de Murcia will make a tour performing Fantasía

    The symphonic poem by Pérez Garrido Fantasía, Op.14 will be performed during the tour of the Banda Sinfónica de la Federación de Bandas de la Región de Murcia, Spain, and conducted by Francisco J. Blanco Corbalán. The concerts will be in Cartagena (Paraninfo UPCT -March, 21th-), Murcia (Auditorio Víctor Villegas -March, 22th-) and Santomera (Auditorio Municipal -March, 29th-). Appart form this tour, the Banda Escuela de la Unión Musical in Torrepacheco, Spain, will perform the overture Song for Peace next Sunday 15th in La Unión, Spain, during the VIII Band Music Festival.

  • The City of Music in Pamplona celebrates its 10th anniversary commissioning a fantasy to Pérez Garrido

    Javier Pérez Garrido received a commission for composing a band work for celebrating the X Anniversary of the City of Music, in Pamplona, Navarra, Spain. This composition, titled Dawn of a New Horizon, Op.62, will be performed for the very first time by renowned conductor Jose Vicent Egea and the Banda del Conservatorio Superior de Música de Navarra next monday, 16th, at 19.30 p.m. (Auditorio Fernando Remacha, Pamplona). "Dawn of a New Horizon" is a descriptive fantasy for band that establishes a parallelism between the dawn of day and the awakening of human conscience. At the same time, it shows the new horizon that we are starting to live after the ending of the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • The Concertino de los Filabres arrives in California

    The composition inspired in the Sierra de los Filabres mountain range and written for four trumpets and band will be performed for the first time in California next August. The Coastal Communities Concert Band conducted by Tom Cole and the trumpeters Richard Radosh, Patrick Russo, Don Sharp and Les Samenow will be the performers of this new release.

  • The cruise ship "Costa Fascinosa" arrives in Cartagena to the sounds of "A Trip to Spain"

    The Spanish suite by Javier Pérez Garrido has been chosen to welcome the Italian cruise ship arriving in Cartagena next Sunday with 3,617 passengers, who will flood the city's streets. The performance will be conducted by the "Santa Cruz" Musical Union from Abanilla, under the direction of Maestro José Manuel Navarro Egea. This exciting event, part of the "From Sea, Port, and Bands" series, will take place in the historic Plaza de los Héroes de Cavite in Cartagena at 10:00 AM.

  • The first performance of In Paradisum will be in the United States

    The organ composition "In Paradisum, Op.46" by Javier Pérez Garrido will be premiered by organist Brad Schultz at Luther Collegefrom Decorah during All Saints Day's concert.

  • The International Trumpet Guild commissioned Pérez Garrido to compose a work

    The International Trumpet Guild has ordered Javier Pérez Garrido to compose a work for four trumpets and concert band for its 38th festival. Other composers such as Jim Stephenson and Erik Morales will compose works too. All compositions will be premiered during the festival's opening and recorded in a Cd that is going to be internationally sold in 2015.

  • The Koninklijke Harmonie van Thorn will premiere a piece by Pérez Garrido

    The dutch Koninklijke Harmonie van Thorn, one of the best concert bands around the world, conducted by renowned Norbert Nozy will premiere the composition "Song for Peace" by Javier Pérez Garrido. This piece gives to the audience the message of peace and love and inspire people to live in a more respectful way. The concert will be in Thorn, The Netherlands (July 5th, 2014).

  • The Marcha del Ditirambo will have an Argentinian premiere

    The concert band "Banda de Música Ciudad de Arroyito" officialy conducted by Gerardo Enrique Lemos will perform for the first time in Argentina the composition Marcha del Ditirambo writen by composer Javier Pérez Garrido. The concert will be held on November 23th, during the acts of the 237 anniversary of the city, and have the cooperation of maestro Esteban Fernández as a guest conductor.

  • The renowned Rocco Parisi will premiere the Sonata Op.28a at ClarinetFest® in the United States

    The distinguished clarinetist Rocco Parisi, known for his collaboration with Luciano Berio during the creation and premiere of Sequenza IXc, will present the first movement of Javier Pérez Garrido's Sonata Op.28a for bass clarinet at the 50th Anniversary of Clarinet Fest® in the United States, to be held in July.

  • The Théâtre de la Sinne will be listening Fanfarria, Op.50 today

    The Orchestre d’Harmonie from Mulhouse, France, in cooperation with the Conservatoire of Mulhouse are going to hold a new edition of the "Grand concert de Gala du Conservatoire". On this occassion, this concert band under the baton of renowned maestro Xavier Lallart will perform the musical opening Fanfarria, Op.50 as well as the compositions written by two of the teachers who taught "music composition" to Pérez Garrido, the American Gregory Fritze and the Spanish Ferrer Ferran.

  • Theo Wolters will premiere "Carmen Checa Jiménez" in The Netherlands

    The centennial Harmonie Concordia Melick under the baton of the prestigious conductor Theo Wolters, assistant to Mariss Jansons with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam from 2004 to 2012, will perform for the very first time the pasodoble Carmen Checa Jiménez, Op.8 by Javier Pérez Garrido in The Netherlands.

  • Two American premieres by Kristin Tjornehoj in Wisconsin

    The University of Wisconsin Symphony Band conducted by Dr. Kristin Tjornehoj will premiere two pieces by Javier Pérez Garrido. The concert will be held at the University of Wisconsin River Falls (Abbot Concert Hall), on Thursday 19th.

  • Two premieres in Florida

    The Christ’s church Academy Band under the direction of recogniced Mr. Lee Ponder will be performing for the very first time in America the composition for solo tenor saxophone and band Urban Concert Op.60 by Pérez Garrido. Furthermore, the concert will have the world premiere of the last band work by Javier entitled Fandango in Florida!. The event, cancelled last year due to the pandemic situation, will take place at Christ's Church Academy Auditorium in Jacksonville next May, 20th.
