The chamber music students at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Navarra (Spain) are finishing their rehearsals before next week's concert. The event will host a wide range of works and genres, including the first performance of the romance for oboe and string quintet composed by Javier Pérez Garrido in 2019.
Under the supervision of Francesca Croccolino, the Italian pianist who teaches at the Navarre Superior Conservatory of Music, the sextet by Martín Zulaika, Aitor Prada, Oihana Echeveste, Sira Martín, Amaya Santana and Iker Molina will stage this premiere that will be attended by the composer and the rest of the educational community of the City of Music, Pamplona.
The "Romanza, Op.64a" adds double bass to the original composition, dedicated to Alba Vivancos in 2019. It receives melodic, harmonic and formal influences from baroque, classical and romantic music. Furthermore, some turns evoke a departure from its aesthetics towards the universe of tango.
