Next Wednesday, March 19th, the "Tertulia La Vara" Procession Association is preparing to kick off its Holy Week events in Cartagena with an unforgettable occasion. Starting at 8:00 PM, the Casino on Calle Mayor will become the epicenter of tradition and culture, where emotion and spirituality will intertwine in a unique evening. The distinguished lawyer José Muelas will be in charge of delivering the opening speech for this event, which will also present the poster commissioned by this procession association to Mariang Maturana.
Music, an essential element of Holy Week, will be performed by Javier Pérez Garrido on clarinet and Juan Antonio Iniesta Marcos on piano. Together, they will interpret a repertoire that includes traditional marches from Cartagena's Holy Week, featuring some of Javier's compositions that have been parading through the port city for years, such as Virgen del Rosario, which processes on the Friday of Sorrows, and Amor Hermoso, which accompanies the celebration of Resurrection Sunday. The fusion of live music with the solemnity of the event promises to touch the deepest chords of the attendees' hearts.
Admission is free, inviting the entire community to join this celebration that transcends the religious and becomes a true tribute to Cartagena's culture. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this historic moment that will mark the beginning of one of Cartagena's most cherished traditions. We look forward to seeing you there!
